Hi! I'm Nick Yasinchuk.
Hello! My name is Nick, and I am originally from Northwest BC and only recently moved to Calgary in 2024 to work on completing my master’s in School and Applied Child Psychology at the University of Calgary. Before my master’s, I had spent time coaching kids and teens in a variety of sports, as well as working as a behaviour interventionist for neurodivergent children. Through my previous volunteering, work, and school experience, I have had exposure to not only suggesting recommendations for learning and behaviour, but also implementing them, which I like to believe gives me a unique outlook on how recommendations translate into meaningful change for students and families.
While most of my experience has been with kids and teens, I have a vested interest in helping all ages in any way that I can. My schooling and previous experience focus on psychoeducational assessment, which is exactly what I currently offer at Koru. I hope to help all involved get a better understanding of their learning or behaviour so that strengths and challenges can be addressed in a meaningful and impactful way.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with friends, going for walks, reading and staying active with martial arts.
