Hello, I'm Fiona
Fiona is currently completing an 8-month internship at Koru Psychology as part of her graduate degree. Under the supervision of Sally Li and Dr. Caroline Buzanko, Fiona will be providing psychoeducational assessments for children and adolescents.
Fiona is in her final year in the Masters of Education in School and Applied Child Psychology program at the University of Calgary. Prior to beginning her internship, Fiona completed two 200-hour clinical practicums at the Integrated Services in Education Clinic at the University of Calgary. Fiona has experience working with young children presenting with unique challenges and strengths. Before pursuing her graduate studies, Fiona provided early intervention services to children and their families in a variety of different settings including school, home and community. During this time, Fiona had the opportunity to engage with a multidisciplinary team, learn about evidence-based practice and implement therapeutic interventions. She has experience working with children with neurodevelopmental disabilities (e.g. autism, Global Developmental Delay, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder), anxiety and learning disabilities.
Fiona is passionate about supporting school and home environments that facilitate positive mental health, skill development and overall well-being. Through a collaborative approach, she is committed to helping families build on their child’s strengths to address areas of need and overcome obstacles.
Fiona is hoping to register as a provisional psychologist in the spring following the completion of her internship and graduate studies. Beyond her graduate studies, Fiona enjoys spending time with friends and family, travelling, and being active.
Take the first step towards confidence and new beginnings.
