Hello, I'm Fiona

Fiona is a Registered Provisional Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists, and she is a member of the Canadian Psychological Association. Under the supervision of Dr. Caroline Buzanko, Fiona will be providing psychoeducational assessments and counselling for children and adolescents.

Fiona completed an 8-month internship at Koru Psychology as part of her graduate degree in 2021-2022. Fiona graduated in the spring of 2022 with her Master of Education in School and Applied Child Psychology from the University of Calgary.

Prior to beginning her internship, Fiona completed two 200-hour clinical practicums at the Integrated Services in Education Clinic at the University of Calgary. Fiona has experience working with children and adolescents presenting with unique challenges and strengths. Before pursuing her graduate studies, Fiona provided early intervention services to children and their families in a variety of different settings including school, home and community. During this time, Fiona had the opportunity to engage with a multidisciplinary team, learn about evidence-based practice and implement therapeutic interventions. She has experience working with children with neurodevelopmental disabilities (e.g. autism, Global Developmental Delay, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder), learning disabilities, and a variety of emotional-behavioural concerns.

Fiona is passionate about supporting school and home environments that facilitate positive mental health, skill development and overall well-being. Through a collaborative approach, she is committed to helping families build on their child’s strengths to address areas of need and overcome obstacles.

Beyond her graduate studies, Fiona enjoys spending time with friends and family, travelling, and being active.

Hello, I'm Jaime Kerr

Jaime is in her final year in the Master of Education in School and Applied Child Psychology program at the University of Calgary. She is thrilled to join the Koru team this fall to complete her 8-month internship. Jaime will be providing psychoeducational assessments for children and adolescents under close supervision of Sally Li and Dr. Caroline Buzanko.

Jaime has many years of experience supporting children with unique learning needs and implementing early interventions. Prior to this internship Jaime has completed three 200-hour clinical practicums at clinics in Calgary and the university, where she provided comprehensive psychoeducation assessments and designed and implemented evidence-based interventions. She has experience working with children with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, learning disabilities in reading, writing, and math, and social emotional concerns such as anxiety.

Jaime is also a mom to a five and three-year old who have allowed her to gain a practical perspective on the parenting journey, with both the intense joy and overwhelming challenges it brings. Jaime is passionate about supporting children and families and values respect, empathy, and collaboration throughout the assessment process. She believes that all children can do well when they have the right tools and supports for success. She loves how the assessment process identifies a child’s unique strengths and reveals how to best support them to optimize their growth and reach their highest potential. She is honoured to have the opportunity to work with children and families at Koru.

On her spare time Jaime loves spending time outside in the mountains with her family, doing crafts and playing along with whatever scenarios her little ones imagine.
