Hi! I'm Dr. Ashlee Kitchenham
I’m a Registered Psychologist, Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) and professional member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA). I completed my MEd in Counselling at the University of New Brunswick in 2018 and PhD in Counselling Psychology at the University of Calgary in 2025.
For almost ten years, I’ve had the privilege of working with children, teens, adults, and families in non-profit, public health, and private mental health settings to support their learning, growth, healing, and resilience. My therapeutic approach is collaborative, strengths-based, solution-focused, and pragmatic. I am passionate about supporting clients in better understanding themselves and their experiences, discovering a greater awareness of what they need and want in life, working together to create practical paths to move toward the futures they hope for, and walking alongside them to sustain the meaningful changes they have achieved.
I also bring a strong lens of cultural humility to my work. For many years, I have had the joy of providing counselling services to refugees in a non-profit setting. This experience has allowed me to develop a robust skillset in supporting diverse clients navigating both common and complex mental health concerns. Just as importantly, it has offered me a deeply enriching opportunity to understand what it truly means to work cross-culturally and has broadened my perspective on life and the world we live in.
When I’m not working, I’m often adventuring outdoors with my family. We love parks, farmyards, and short road trips to mountains and lakes! I also enjoy reading – mostly fiction, throwing down on a pottery wheel (or, at least, attempting to), and yoga.
I Offer:
