Hello, I'm Nicole

I am excited to be joining the team at Koru Psychology as a practicum student as I work toward completing my MA of Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University. I completed my BEd at the University of Alberta and have been a teacher in Calgary for over 15 years. I have experience working in public and private schools, teaching preschool to grade 9. I have also had the opportunity to focus on supporting students with diverse needs over the last few years in my teaching role. I am passionate about helping children, teens, and young adults identify their strengths and use the resources available to them to achieve success in school, at home, and in the community.

I am interested in learning about your unique story and how your experiences have shaped you. In understanding the choices, relationships, and patterns that affect your emotional wellbeing, we can work collaboratively to promote positive change and growth. Through a strength-based narrative approach, I am here to support you in your journey in discovering the path that is best for you.

When I am not counselling, studying, or teaching, I enjoy spending time with my husband, two daughters, and stepson. When we get a break from our busy schedule, we enjoy being outdoors, hiking, biking, and paddling in the summer; skating, snowshoeing, and skiing in the winter. A daily yoga practice also helps me stay grounded and present in my busy and sometimes chaotic life.

Take the first step towards confidence and new beginnings.
