Hello, I'm Jennifer!
I have come to Koru as a practicum student from the Master of Counselling Psychology program at Yorkville University. Since completing my bachelor’s degree in psychology almost 3 decades ago, I have been supporting children, youth, and families as they navigate life’s challenges. My professional experience involving individual and group work with families in crisis shelters and school systems has enhanced my awareness of unique cultural, developmental, and emotional needs. The majority of my experience has been supporting youth with Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), anxiety, trauma, and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
Raising my two neuro-diverse teenagers has also contributed to my flexibility, patience, and my life-long passion for helping youth thrive in often turbulent times. I am also genuinely appreciative and empathic to how tricky parenting can really be! I would be honored to walk along with you on your journey to find harmony and a greater life satisfaction. I realize that individuals do as well as they can with the skills they have. My hope is to support you in discovering and building on your strengths to ultimately create the positive changes you desire in your life. I welcome the opportunity to incorporate fun and creative tools, like drumming or art, in our work together to facilitate sharing your story.
When I am not working, I love hanging out with my husband, two daughters, mother, and lovable Brittany Spaniel. To fill my spirit and soul, you may find me community drumming, practicing yoga, or spending time in the mountains kayaking, camping, or hiking.
Take the first step towards confidence and new beginnings.
Whether you’re a parent or an individual looking for positive transformation and growth, Koru Family Psychology is here for you.
